The story behind the lens
I’m a photographer based in Germany, originally from South Africa. I began taking photographs in my teens, working first with film and slides. When I moved to digital in 2006, I never quite took to it in the same way. It was only around 2018 that I gradually began to enjoy photography digitally.
I’m not tied to a single style or theme, but I’m especially drawn to bird photography, particularly the challenges associated with photographing small birds, as well as black and white images where movement and stillness shape the frame. My approach is simply to pay attention and be in the moment.
